World Alzheimer’s Month Q&A with Ambiance Care

September is World Alzheimer’s Month and we’ve been answering questions about some of the common problems individuals with Alzheimer’s may encounter.

Alzheimer’s falls under the umbrella term of dementia – it’s one of several conditions characterised by memory loss, personality changes and a reduction in a person’s ability to perform daily tasks. It’s also the most common type of dementia, accounting for between 60 and 70% of diagnoses.

In our roles at Ambiance Care, we regularly answer questions from families of those with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia – questions around the person’s care, their health and how to deal with challenging situations.

We’ve put together some informative videos about a few of the challenges we come across often: how to prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs), what to do when somebody with dementia asks to go home, and how to improve and encourage eating and drinking among individuals with dementia.

If you’d like to learn more about any of these issues, watch our first short UTIs video here and head over to our Facebook page to view our videos about asking to go home and eating and drinking.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly for more information, guidance, or to learn about our services in dementia care at home in Stockport, Cheshire or Tameside.
