Meet Caregiver Natalie

Meet Natalie – one of our longest serving dementia caregivers!

Today we wanted to shine the spotlight on Natalie, a fantastic caregiver and an integral part of the Ambiance team. Natalie joined us almost three years ago, so it’s high time we gave our readers the opportunity to get to know her better!

Natalie has been a popular team member since the day she joined Ambiance Care, and she brings lots of diverse medical experience to her role – along with enthusiasm, genuine care and a can-do attitude.

We asked Natalie to tell us a bit more about herself – here’s what she had to say.

What’s your background?

Before joining Ambiance Care and looking after people living with dementia I held various roles in nursing, mental health and dental nursing. I’ve been able to bring a lot of my experience over to my work with Ambiance Care in the last three years but I’ve also learned so much in that time.

Outside work, I’m a Mum of three girls who keep me on my toes in my home life!

Any key areas of experience?

Along with the various roles I held in the NHS, I also developed firsthand experience of dementia care when my Grandmother was diagnosed. I cared for her on her journey with vascular dementia, which gave me an understanding of the challenges dementia can pose and how much of a difference the right support can make.

Why did you decide to work with Ambiance Care?

I left the NHS in 2021 in a bid to achieve a better work-life balance for my family. I was becoming disenchanted with my career and felt unable to make the difference I was desperately passionate about making.

The Ambiance values and ethos were especially meaningful to me after caring for my Grandma and I knew this would be the place I could finally make a real difference in people’s lives.

What makes Ambiance Care different?

Ambiance Care undertakes home care in a fresh and innovative way that I hadn’t encountered before, wholly putting the person at the centre of their care, with great outcomes.

Professionally speaking, support from management is second to none. I always feel valued and listened to; however, at the same time, I’ve been encouraged to grow and develop by working autonomously.

What do you enjoy about working for Ambiance Care?

I can honestly say that I love my job. Although we naturally encounter challenges at times, I never feel overwhelmed or unsupported. I love the opportunity to develop meaningful and longstanding relationships with clients and families alike.

What do you hope to achieve through your work?

I hope to continue to set the highest levels of quality care for all through my work with Ambiance Care. It’s my mission to provide support for clients and families at what can often be a challenging time in their lives, while raising lots of smiles and happiness as we create meaningful memories together.

Welcome, Natalie – we’re delighted to have you at Team Ambiance!
